We’re covering the 75th Academy Awards or the films of 2002. There were 5 nominees this year, but it was a great year for films, so we added 5 more (we were almost tempted to bump this year up to a true 16-movie tournament, so we may have missed your favorite). In part 2 we’ll be covering the winners from the first round.
The nominees were: Gangs of New York, Chicago, The Hours, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and The Pianist.
We added for consideration: Catch Me if You Can, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Talk to Her, Spirited Away, and Y Tu Mama Tambien.
